Monica Pemberton pushes the boundaries in the male-dominated technology industry. A consummate diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility practitioner, she has made her mark and excelled in the field as a technical leader and advocate for women of color in tech. As the Chief Technology Officer for the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), she is responsible for developing the technology strategy and delivering solutions to meet the organization’s mission and objectives to become an indispensable association. She has been a technology professional for over 23 years. Previous to NACUBO, Monica was a Senior Technology Consultant in the government sector for the General Services Administration (GSA) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

As a board member of the Association Women Technology Champions, she brings a fresh perspective and is passionate about strengthening the framework for advancing women in their careers. She also leads enterprise-wide efforts to push the critical narrative that STEM must be inclusive of everyone, particularly women of color.

When not devoting her time to associations, she mentors college students through Information Technology Senior Management Forums (ITSMF) college mentor program.

Monica holds a B.S. in Information Systems Management and an M.S. in Technology Management from the University of Maryland University College.
