Award Nominations

At AWTC, we believe in recognizing and celebrating the achievements of outstanding women who are making a difference in association technology. It's that time of the year again, and we are thrilled to announce that we are accepting AWTC Awards nominations through November 1.

  • Step 1: Nominate a colleague by Friday, November 1.
  • Step 2: If nominating yourself or if you have been nominated, submit the application by Wednesday, December 4.
  • Step 3: Celebrate by joining us at the Awards Ceremony in March 2025

Do you know a remarkable woman who has made significant contributions to the world of association technology? Or are you one of these incredible women yourself? We want to hear your stories and celebrate your accomplishments. This is your chance to shine a spotlight on those who have made a difference.

We recognize women with three awards:

AWTC Technology Leadership Award

This award recognizes a career of achievement and leadership, and it is awarded to up to two women each year. A recipient of this award is a leader in her association and/or profession, and she is known to her peers as an outstanding association IT leader. She holds a senior leadership role advancing technology and has made an impact that extends beyond her own organization.

Criteria:

  • Leadership in Association Technology: The nominee(s) demonstrates exemplary leadership within their association's technology domain, guiding strategic initiatives and inspiring others to embrace innovation. They exhibit a clear vision for the role of technology in advancing the association's mission and goals, driving progress, and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration: The nominee(s) actively share their expertise, insights, and best practices, contributing to the collective knowledge and advancement of association technology. They foster collaboration and open communication, connecting individuals and teams to valuable resources, expertise, and solutions, thus promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Empowerment and Mentorship: Committed to empowering others, the nominee(s) serve as mentors and advocates, supporting the professional development and advancement of individuals within the technology field. They actively promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, championing the recognition and representation of underrepresented voices, and inspiring a new generation of technology leaders.
  • Eligibility: This award is open to women working in associations and companies that serve associations.

AWTC Technology Innovation Award

This award is given to up to two women working at or serving an association in the industry who have pioneered the use of technology in an innovative or novel way that substantially impacts internal or external stakeholders and moves the association forward. This award recognizes individuals who lead a project that uses technology in a novel way to effect organizational transformation. It highlights AWTC’s commitment to nurturing creative advancements in association technology.

Criteria:

  • Innovation: The nominee(s) should have applied an innovative technology solution for their association. This could be a completely new technology or an inventive use of existing technology,distinguishing itself from traditional methods in the field.
  • Leadership: The nominee(s) should have played a key role in organizing, guiding, implementing, and/or managing the solution. Their participation on the project was critical in motivating and encouraging their team to reach the desired outcome.
  • Novel Application: The award focuses on the novelty of the technology or its application. It could involve unique uses of established technologies, merging technologies in unconventional ways, or applying technology to solve problems in a manner new to the association sector.
  • Tech Champion: The nominee(s) should embody AWTC values, actively promoting the innovative use of technology in associations. They should inspire others in the field by fostering a progressive and inclusive technology culture within their association.
  • Eligibility: This award is open to women working in associations and companies that serve associations.

AWTC Technology Champion Award

This award recognizes women doing amazing work every day to advance technology in associations. This might be a programmer developing innovative apps; a membership director who has used existing technologies to offer compelling new member services; a data analyst who is changing the way the organization moves forward with data-driven decisions; a marketing professional who is using technology to drive exponential member engagement; or an IT director who has spearheaded a swath of successful technology projects.

This award may be given to up to 10 women each year, based on the decision of the judges. The award is open to all women working at or serving an association in the industry.

The AWTC Technology Champion Award is given to a woman in association technology who exemplifies the following:

  • She solves problems in the use of and using technology.
  • She articulates new ways of using technology to those around her.
  • She educates by generating and sharing informative content with her colleagues and peers.
  • She connects humans and technology. She connects her peers to resources and to other people who advance technology. She connects systems to other systems to streamline technology.
  • She is a trusted source of information and is thorough in research and dissemination of knowledge.
  • She achieves results by leading or contributing to innovative technology projects within her association.

Eligibility: The award is open to women working in associations and companies that serve associations.
